  1. While evaluating the comic my partner made I. I realized that the main idea to me was that organisms go though evolution in order to survive/ be better adapted to the environment.

  2. When evaluating the comic strip I had made after we learned about the unit. What has come to my senses is that my idea of natural selection was wrong. There were some clear misconceptions that I had mistakenly believed to be true. I had thought that the entire idea of natural selection was false but this is just not the case. I had thought that one species could just simply evolve into another by the time of a snap of a finger but what I really have learned is that an entire population evolves gradually at a very slow rate and takes many generations to adapt better to the environment which is what sums up natural selection in a nutshell.

  3. The main idea of my comic was to display how evolution and religious belief can go hand in hand. Maybe you believe that both occurred, or maybe you’re on the fence. The goal of my comic was to show both sides and how they might be related. For example, in the comic someone was questioning Darwin theory, curious as to if it was real or not real. Sherlock, being the sensible and scientific man he is immediately went to defend Charles and his theory. John on the other hand does not fancy this idea and sticks to his belief in God. Now both boys go on a hunt looking for the culprit, it turns out to be Moriarty. He informs him that he also has no clue as to how organisms cam to be. You then go to God to see his role in both sides of the story.
Variation is not to strongly showed here, but it more takes form in the way that the characters speak and communicate. It shows the variation of views as a species, not a species on its own. Adaption is demonstrated when Moriarty leaves a quote by Darwin. His quote specifies how the species most subjectable to change is the one to survive. Selection and Reproduction are not too highlighted in my comic. There is slight mentions of reproduction/selection when you see the evolving man. But otherwise my comic focused more on the controversy of evolution. Speciation was highlighted when Sherlock was talking about evolution and showed the man evolving. Past that speciation wasn’t too big of a theme in my comic.
Over all my comic was about the conflict in the world when it comes to evolution and how its an ever changing question.

  4. The main idea shown in my comic is that over time animal’s change and grow too adapted to their environment over time, and the characteristics that help those who survived are carried down to the offspring. Animals evolve to grow stronger. For example the unicorns never lost their horns, they just moved to a different part of their body and are used for a different purpose. In the last panel you see an offspring have a characteristic that was carried down through evolution. The unicorns that were unfit were the targets, but over time the unicorns became less and less weak and lazy.
They became more and more strong. The comic shows that natural selection will target the ones that are weak and can’t adapt, but doesn’t show variation. Natural selection targeted the unicorns who didn’t have the right tools to survive in the environment. The unicorns adapt by deciding to become strong, and even though the idea of an animal deciding to become stronger isn’t correct, the comic still showed adaption. The unicorn’s status shows that there were some the believed it, which were the ones that live and there were some who didn’t believe and they were the ones who didn’t survive. The comic shows an offspring (Alexander) result in the unicorns changes over time.

  5. In the comic strip activity I learned that amimals evolve to best fit their enviroment so they can survive and reproduce. In mine it shows that some people wont believe but soon will believe.
